A chat with Laura Brown reveals the nature of a psychic. “You know when you sit down to really express how unusual you are you end up coming out really ‘usual’,” Laura expresses this feeling that I think most of us psychics have.
In her own words Laura discribes herself “I am exceptionally shy, but if given the chance to speak on something I believe in you cannot get me to shut up. Though shy to a fault I am also known to make myself look like a complete ass to make another laugh.”
In addition to being psychic she tells me a little bit more about what she is or does.
“I am empathic, intuitive, an energy reader, medium, and tarot reader. I’m a raw foodist who enjoys junk food and a believer in love light and peace who drops “f” bombs regularly. I perform healings, ghost hunts and rituals on a nearly weekly basis…and have connected more than one individual with a relative with eerie messages that even made my hair stand on edge. I can sit down and discuss International Politics with you, switch subjects over to Mercury Retrograde and finish up with a bit of celebrity gossip and maybe even a small chat on S&M and its effects on equality in a relationship for good measure.”

“I often times see sparkles in front of me and I then must stop, place my “feelers” out and see what going on….you just never know when a dearly departed loved one will stop in for a chat…and chat we do…whether a spirit guide, a friend, family member, stranger, spirit or even the fairies who like to frequent my home. I will have full length in depth and honest conversations with those no one else, but myself can see. Of course I have tried very hard to keep these conversations from my husband (see aforementioned shyness) because I fear that while he already knows me to be unusual, he may deem this behavior just slightly over the edge into crazy town.
I asked my husband what he felt made me unusual and he said:
“You’re fiery, you manage MANY tasks at once, your hair color changes faster than the weather, you shag like no one else, you have the ability to make people mad by being silent, you’re a mood enigma. You get behind family no matter what and stick up for what is right or should be right. Your a Tasmanian devil with a bunnies look!”
We see what he means about the hair color! It is always changing and it looks great!
“I think what he best picks up on is my rather dichotomous nature…as a Pisces rising in Virgo with heavy Gemini energy circulating my chart I do ‘unusual’ better than just about anyone, but if you say that to me tomorrow I may take it as an insult…just a warning.
INTERVIEW with LAURA BROWN PSYCHIC MEDIUM
How did you get into do psychic readings?
Having always had gifts and the ability to “know” what I had no reasonable explanation for knowing I decided when I was quite young to start doing it professionally. I realized that helping family and friends was great but there were ways to reach a broader audience and to impact the lives of many instead of just a few. Though it sounds horrifically cliche, I genuinely wanted to help people.
What the biggest message you have for the world?
My message for the world is to “Let go and let be”. We, as a society, seem to be in such a hurry. A hurry to achieve, to grasp, to gather, to horde, and I honestly think that everyone needs to slow down, to breath, to go inside and cultivate that peace instead of placing the majority of the concentration on the external.
That wasn’t a message for the world, that was a message directly to me Laura! Is there a message you have from spirit?
“Love and compassion provide us with the tools to heal not only ourselves but the world at large. We have lost our way and given in to weaker emotions, leaving us at the whim of those emotions and so unaware of the human experience, our divine right to be happy, balanced and in harmony with the energies which our ourselves.”
What’s the biggest way for someone to help their self?
To take responsibility for our experience is the greatest means through which we can help ourselves. Instead of blaming the significant other who did us wrong or the job that we lost, the boss who passed us up for that much anticipated promotion, we must accept responsibility for our station in life, at present and let go. Learning from our past does not equate to HOLDING on to our past. When we realize that our evolution in the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual has more to do with our choices, actions and discipline we begin to take a more active role…we stop blaming and we become an active participant in our lives.
Would you be open to having scientist study you?
This is a difficult question for me because while I understand the great strides provided in scientific exploration I think that some things, such as the Spirit, cannot be reduced to facts and figures.
Just an FYI I’d totally loved to be studied. I want to find out how to use more of our brains instead of the little 10% we use. You know? What the most profound experience you’ve had with your ability?
About 2-4 months after my mothers passing I was meditating, breathing in and out to a count of 5 and within about 5 minutes of doing this I felt a cool breeze go by me, flickering the candle and my moms voice whispering my name in my right ear. Even having had experience with mediumship in the past this rocked me to my core and was a very emotional experience for me.
I could imagine. Event a small gester is something most won’t experience in their lifetime. Name a few celebrities you would love to read in person?

Do you have any predictions for anything or anyone? The World? The United States of American? For a celebrity or for me?
On a large scale our society is entering a very profound transformation. This shift will occur differently for everyone, but it will affect everyone on both an internal and external fashion. Major governmental systems will have to adapt and change with this shift or the citizens will revolt, sometimes peacefully and sometimes not. This shift will impact our daily lives, how we see the world and what we do with our lives. Professions which we once clung to because of the monetary compensation or personal power we THOUGHT they endowed us with will no longer be as important. We will find that our focus starts to simultaneously go internal and external. Our human family is a term used more and more…whereas the past several hundred years have focused in on the pursuit of personal goals, the notion of the self before all others, this phase will usher in a time when be realize we are all interconnected and that what happens with one happens to us all. If used properly, if those who are aware of these shifts help to guide everyone, this is going to be a magnificent time for the human experience. The closest to utopia that we will experience in the physical form.
