This past Saturday, CB2 played host to their annual PRIDE Kick-off party with The Trevor Project hosted by Lance Bass at their West Hollywood store.

As many of you know, I support the Gay and Lesbian community (LBGT.) Many of my family, friends or clients are gay. CB2 was not on my radar until today, but looking at what they do I am amazed and want to support them!!

Lance, a huge fan of CB2, attended with boyfriend Michael Turchin and both were very excited to be a part of the event and heighten awareness for The Trevor Project – who played Grand Marshall in the Parade on Sunday.  Lance went home with 2 of the “Accept and Be” posters (retail $19.95 each) which were exclusively created for CB2 by designer Mathew Lew – all proceeds directly benefit The Trevor Project (available at CB2 stores nationwide as well as cb2.com.

limited edition: One of a Finds original works are offered one time only in a small reserve for collectors and enthusiasts. This special CB2 find has a limited edition release of 3500.

Accept and Be. This year, CB2 invited Chicago-based artist Matthew Lew to interpret our “Accept and Be” mantra in a series of limited-edition posters. These three simple words are transformed into a powerful graphic whose bold colors and lettering demand attention, radiating optimism and confidence. Each poster is to be appreciated for its spontaneous colors and variations in layout and font. No two posters are the same, but each is wonderful. 100% of the proceeds from our limited-edition posters will be donated to The Trevor Project (U.S.) and LGBT Youth Line (Canada).

What is CB2?

  • 100% of U.S. proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.

Psychic Medium Thomas John has been making accurate predictions for years. At the beginning of the year he made 99 predictions on his website www.mediumthomas.com, as well as his Blog Talk Radio podcast.  Many are celebrity and Hollywood related. Below we’ll get the 2012 scoop on Tinsletown starlets such as 2011 Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston and leading men like Brad Pit and Tom Cruise. Thomas gives us headlines before they happens! We’ll also cover some predictions he covered that have come to pass. What do you think 2012 will bring?

“In 2012 I see a new boyfriend for new mother Sandra Bullock. It’s time to get her love life in order. This time I feel it will work out for her, and someone she will be with for the rest of her life. The relationship is simple and stable, and I feel that they end up doing a lot of work together. I feel it will be someone with the first initial of R.”

“I get a strong sense Jennifer Aniston will announce she is pregnant! Keep your eyes out for her great news mid to late year. Her ex Brad Pit seems to going through his own changes this year. I see the relationship between him and Angelina Jolie will end, but he will quickly move on to a new relationship, though he will continue to be a devoted father of his six children. However, I don’t think those two will be over for good—I see them reconnecting quickly after the break-up, and possibly reconciling.”

“In January on my website I predicted health issues with Whitney Houston and I also predicted a queen of soul would die. Unfortunately, both Etta James, a great soul legend, and Whitney Houston, both passed this year. I also see the passing of another star associated with country music. I probably didn’t have to be psychic to know Adele would sweep almost all of the music award shows this year. She’s a very talented and amazing artist and she made it happen just as I saw it.”

“More predictions, talk show host Ellen will announce she plans to adopt a child`. Tom Cruise maybe ending it with his current wife Katie Holmes and he might be planning to show off his vocal talents on a Broadway show. There is change all around him this year. Gaga goes gaga for a new beau, unknown male not in the limelight currently, has dark hair and handsome features. Jessica Simpson I believe will be starting a new line of clothing could be maternity wear. This will not be a profitable venture. American Idol will be voted off the air—I’m seeing news that the show is coming to an end. Katie Couric’s new TV show receives low marks. Kim Kardashian will enter a new relationship with a man she eventually will marry. William and Kate publicly announce a baby, possibly twins, and major health concerns emerge in the news about Muhammad Ali, Liza Minelli, Lady Gaga, and Donald Trump.”

Could a Mega-Tsunami
Wipe Out the Eastern Seaboard?
Fictional Account Based on Scientific Fact
Reveals Real Threat

As scientists have been baffled by earthquakes in the U.S. and a tsunami in Japan, there is one thing some of them seem to agree on – something really bad is about to happen and it’s going to happen soon.

That’s the news uncovered by New York Times best-selling novelist Steve Alten from the research he performed for his new book, Phobos: Mayan Fear (www.stevealten.com), a fictional tale of the Mayan 2012 doomsday prediction. His story incorporates the very real existence of a volatile volcano in the Canary Islands that some scientists believe could pose a catastrophic threat to the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. What’s worse is that many believe the volcano is close to erupting.

“Scientists have been tracking this since 2001,” said Alten. “Ten years ago, Dr. Simon Day, of the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at University College London, predicted that if the volcano, called Cumbre Vieja, was to erupt, it would cause a landslide, which in turn would create a massive mega-tsunami. Moving at roughly the speed of a commercial jet, these waves would be about 100 to 160 feet high by the time they crossed the Atlantic to strike U.S. shores.”

What’s worse is that El Hierro, another volcano only 80 miles from Cumbro Viejo, is set to erupt soon.

“At the end of September, the Canary Islands government raised the alert level for the El Hierro volcano in the Canary Islands (Spain) to ‘Yellow,’ the highest alert status since an unprecedented earthquake swarm commenced in mid-July,” Alten added. “Now, that volcano won’t cause a massive tsunami, but I can’t imagine that a volcano erupting 80 miles away from another more volatile volcano is something that will add to the geologic stability of the region.”

Alten’s research for his book also revealed that most scientists don’t consider a Cumbro Viejo eruption just a possibility. They believe it is a probability.

“Dr. Steven Ward from the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the University of California co-authored a paper with Dr. Day in which he stated that in the case of Cumbro Viejo, it is not a matter of if, but rather, a matter of when.”

According to the paper, entitled “Cumbre Vieja Volcano – Potential collapse and tsunami at La Palma, Canary Islands,” the volcano would cause a massive landslide on the island of La Palma, forcing a massive chunk of land into the ocean. Immediately thereafter, an unprecedented mountain of water about 3,000 feet high would form and crest only to collapse and rebound back into the ocean. The tsunami would cover about 155 miles in about 10 minutes, and rumble past 500 miles per hour as it spread through the Atlantic toward the U.S. coast. Waves as high as 164 feet would pound the lower part of the Eastern Seaboard.

“People were surprised by the earthquakes here in the states and shocked at the Japanese tsunami,” Alten said. “I may be a writer of fiction, but when it is based on facts this strong and this compelling, I can tell you I won’t be surprised when we get a tsunami warning to evacuate to East Coast. After all, the facts have been here the whole time.”

About Steve Alten

The questions becomes can you fend for yourself after a disaster?

No holds barred survival guide to global natural or man made catastrophes.

Some scoff at doomsday prophecies, but this year alone, millions of people have endured catastrophes of seeming apocalyptic proportions. Consider:

  • March 11 — A 9.0 magnitude earthquake violently shakes Japan, unleashing a tsunami that triggers a nuclear crisis. As of Aug. 15, Japan’s National Police Agency reported 20,364 people dead or still missing.
  • May 22 — A Category 5 tornado rips through Joplin, Mo., wreaking 14 miles of havoc, including 159 lives lost and 7,000 homes destroyed. By July 23, recovery was just beginning, according to a Huffington Post report.

Those spectacularly devastating events were just two of dozens this year that left stricken survivors without the essentials of modern life: water, shelter, electricity.

Could you manage for a few days? A few months?

Author Dan Martin is confident he could — and comfortably. He and his wife, Lucia, lived off the grid for 10 years on a self-sustaining Texas ranch they built themselves. They grew, raised or trapped their food; made their own ethanol fuel and solar panels; survived on rainwater they captured and purified. Martin’s newest book, Apocalypse: How to Survive a Global Crisis (www.ApocalypseTheBook.com), details lessons gleaned from the experience with illustrated instructions on everything from finding clean water sources to performing an emergency tracheotomy.

“We have a lot of backwards to go before we can even think about going forwards again,” Martin says. “We’ve become too comfortable; too secure; too complacent with our lifestyles. I’m not saying we should abandon everything, our air conditioning, our livelihoods, our technology, and go live in a cave. But when you’re 100 percent dependent on these systems and they fail for whatever reason, most people have no idea how to cope and continue.”
