Tonight someone asked me a question about the Family of Light. This was my response back:

We are here for a very specific and important purpose, each and every one of us Family of Light. We are here to wake up the people, bring spiritual revelation/revolution/illumination that this world has forgotten in it’s progression.

The world undergoes this many times in it’s recreations. We have gone through the cycle of Aries, Taurus, and Pisces. We are about to come into Aquarius. We are here to see this change and help it occur.

Each one of us has a duty to bring in the light. However, each of us has our own methods and ways of directing this light. It comes from us, our soul’s cosmic glow. It flows in our blood and sings lullabies to us at night. “The time is coming. Be the Change. Light the world. Help the people.”

What gift of light we bring in into the world is also our gift back to us, enriching our lives. And furthering along the necessary vibrations. People like us have our human aspects but we also contain within us, a very different state of being. However, this does not mean we are special..Within every thing living is the spark of the Divine Creation Molecule, The One that is All and Nothing. It is crucial that we understand that very complex and simple theory that there is no difference between myself and everything else. Or yourself and everything else.

This different core may be called a different name. Or just a higher form of Self. Some might even call it a guardian or perhaps even a God. Regardless, they are all part of this Change.

You might even experience people who have taken this to a very dark place. These people have chosen a path and for good or evil, they will help make the Change. We must remember that while the Change is coming, a balance is needed. It is wise to acknowledge both light and dark, good and evil.

It is all part of the balance here in the physical. And you must choose your place based on your own will. And how you feel. Either way, you will bring light. Either a dark light, a bright light, or a balanced one. There are all sorts of lights in between those three as well. This gets us back to our light.

Our choices will affect the message we bring into this new world coming. Every action is a ripple in the proverbial pond.Every smile, frown, tear or laughter is a powerful tool of change.

Use it.

Help the people.

And you will discover just how far the rabbit hole goes~

Psychic Medium Thomas John has been making accurate predictions for years. At the beginning of the year he made 99 predictions on his website www.mediumthomas.com, as well as his Blog Talk Radio podcast.  Many are celebrity and Hollywood related. Below we’ll get the 2012 scoop on Tinsletown starlets such as 2011 Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston and leading men like Brad Pit and Tom Cruise. Thomas gives us headlines before they happens! We’ll also cover some predictions he covered that have come to pass. What do you think 2012 will bring?

“In 2012 I see a new boyfriend for new mother Sandra Bullock. It’s time to get her love life in order. This time I feel it will work out for her, and someone she will be with for the rest of her life. The relationship is simple and stable, and I feel that they end up doing a lot of work together. I feel it will be someone with the first initial of R.”

“I get a strong sense Jennifer Aniston will announce she is pregnant! Keep your eyes out for her great news mid to late year. Her ex Brad Pit seems to going through his own changes this year. I see the relationship between him and Angelina Jolie will end, but he will quickly move on to a new relationship, though he will continue to be a devoted father of his six children. However, I don’t think those two will be over for good—I see them reconnecting quickly after the break-up, and possibly reconciling.”

“In January on my website I predicted health issues with Whitney Houston and I also predicted a queen of soul would die. Unfortunately, both Etta James, a great soul legend, and Whitney Houston, both passed this year. I also see the passing of another star associated with country music. I probably didn’t have to be psychic to know Adele would sweep almost all of the music award shows this year. She’s a very talented and amazing artist and she made it happen just as I saw it.”

“More predictions, talk show host Ellen will announce she plans to adopt a child`. Tom Cruise maybe ending it with his current wife Katie Holmes and he might be planning to show off his vocal talents on a Broadway show. There is change all around him this year. Gaga goes gaga for a new beau, unknown male not in the limelight currently, has dark hair and handsome features. Jessica Simpson I believe will be starting a new line of clothing could be maternity wear. This will not be a profitable venture. American Idol will be voted off the air—I’m seeing news that the show is coming to an end. Katie Couric’s new TV show receives low marks. Kim Kardashian will enter a new relationship with a man she eventually will marry. William and Kate publicly announce a baby, possibly twins, and major health concerns emerge in the news about Muhammad Ali, Liza Minelli, Lady Gaga, and Donald Trump.”

THE FIRST DOCUMENTED POSSESSION!

The Watseka Wonder The small town of Watseka, Illinois is located about 50 miles south of Chicago and on the eastern side of the state, just a few miles from the Indiana border. The sensation that would come to be known as the “Watseka Wonder” would first make it’s appearance here in July of 1877. ‘It was at this time that a 13-year-old girl named Lurancy Vennum first fell into a strange, catatonic sleep during which she claimed to speak with spirits. The attacks occurred many times each day and sometimes lasted as long as eight hours. During her trance, Lurancy would speak in different voices although when she awoke, she would remember nothing. News of the strange girl traveled about the state and during this time of popularity for the Spiritualist movement, many visitors came to see her. ‘Finally, doctors diagnosed Lurancy as being mentally ill and they recommended that she be sent to the State Insane Asylum in Peoria, Illinois. In January of 1878, a man named Asa Roff, also from Watseka, came to visit the Vennum family. He claimed that his own daughter, Mary, had been afflicted with the same condition as Lurancy…and he was convinced that his daughter had actually spoken to spirits. ‘He was also convinced that his daughter’s spirit still existed….but little did he know, that she was right now inside the body of Lurancy Vennum! To understand the strange and fantastic events that took place in Watseka, we must first start at the beginning of the tale and try to piece together a puzzle that has disturbed investigators for years. Is spirit possession really possible? If you explore the strange case of the “Watseka Wonder”, you just might believe that it is! ‘Mary Roff died on the afternoon of July 5, 1865 while hospitalized at the State Mental Asylum in Peoria. She had been committed there after a bizarre incident when she began slashing at her arms with a straight razor. It was the final tragedy in Mary’s descent into madness and insanity. In the beginning, it had only been the strange voices that seemed to come from nowhere; next were the long periods when she stayed in a trance-like state; then came her moments of awakening, when she spoke in other voices and seemed to be possessed by the spirits of other people; then finally, came her obsession with blood. Mary was convinced that she needed to remove the blood from her body, using pins, leeches and at last, a sharpened razor. ‘After that final incident, her parents discovered her on the floor of her room, no longer conscious and lying in a pool of blood. Broken-hearted, they took her to the asylum and here, Mary endured more tragedy as the “cures” for insanity in those days were hardly up to the standards of psychiatric hospitals of today. A favored treatment in the 1860′s was the Water Cure, where a patient would be immersed naked in a tub of icy water and then taken to a tub of scalding water. And there was more…. female patients, like Mary, received a cold water douche, administered with a hose and then wet sheets were wrapped tightly around them to squeeze the blood vessels shut. This was followed by vigorous rubbing to restore circulation. These treatments were administered several times each week. ‘Not surprisingly, such techniques brought little success and most patients never improved. Mental hospitals at that time were merely cages to store the insane and it would be some years to come before any real progress was made in mental health care. ‘Like most others, Mary showed no improvement and soon died. At the time of Mary Roff’s death, Lurancy Vennum was a little more than one year old…. but in just over a decade, their lives would be forever connected in a case that remains today as one of the strangest, and most authentic, cases of possession ever recorded. Lurancy Vennum had been born on April 16, 1864 and she and her family had moved to Watseka when she was seven years old. Since they arrived long after Mary Roff’s death, the Vennum family knew nothing of her strange illness, nor did they know the Roff family, other than to speak to them on the streets of the small town. ‘Then on July 11, 1877, a series of strange events would begin. On that morning, Lurancy complained to her mother about feeling sick and then collapsed onto the floor, passed out cold. She stayed in a deep, catatonic sleep for the next five hours but when she awoke, she seemed fine. But this was only the beginning…. ‘The next day, Lurancy once again slipped off into the trance-like sleep but this time was different, as she began speaking aloud of visions and spirits. In her trance, she told her family that she was in heaven and that she could see and hear spirits, including the spirit of her brother, whom had died in 1874. From that day on, the trances began to occur more and more frequently and would sometimes last for up to eight hours. While she was asleep, Lurancy continued to speak about her visions, which were sometimes terrifying. She claimed that spirits were chasing her through the house and shouting her name. The attacks occurred up to a dozen times each day and as they continued, Lurancy began to speak in other languages, or at least in nonsense words that no one could understand. When she awoke, she would remember nothing of her trance nor of her strange ramblings. ‘The stories and rumors about Lurancy and her visions began to circulate in Watseka. People were certainly talking and even the local newspaper printed stories about her. No one followed the case more closely than Asa Roff, the father of Mary Roff. In the early stages of Mary’s illness, she too had claimed to communicate with spirits and would fall into long trances without warning. He was sure that Lurancy Vennum was suffering from the same illness as his poor daughter. But Roff said nothing until the Vennum family exhausted every known cure for Lurancy. It was not until the local doctor and a minister suggested that the girl be sent to the State Mental Hospital that Roff got involved. He refused to see another young woman end up as his Mary did in the hands of the doctors. On January 31, 1878, he contacted the Vennum family. They were naturally skeptical of his story but he did persuade them to let him bring a Dr. E. Winchester Stevens to the house. Stevens, like Asa Roff, was a dedicated Spiritualist and the two men had become convinced that Lurancy was not insane. They believed that Lurancy was actually a vessel through which the dead were communicating. Roff only wished that he had seen the same evidence in his own daughter years before. ‘The Vennum’s allowed Dr. Stevens to “mesmerize” the girl and try to contact the spirits through her. Within moments, Lurancy was speaking in another voice, which allegedly came from a spirit named Katrina Hogan. Then, the spirit changed and claimed to be that of Willie Canning, a young man who had committed suicide. She spoke as Willie for over an hour and then suddenly, she threw her arms into the air and fell over backward. Dr. Stevens took her hands and soon, Lurancy calmed and gained control of her body again. She was now in heaven and would allow a gentler spirit to control her. She said the spirit’s name was Mary Roff. ‘The trance continued on into the next day and by this time, Lurancy apparently was Mary Roff. She said that she wanted to leave the Vennum house, which was unfamiliar to her, and go home to the Roff house. When Mrs. Roff heard the news, she hurried to the Vennum house in the company of her married daughter, Minerva Alter. The two women came up the sidewalk and saw Lurancy sitting by the window. ” ‘Here comes Ma and Nervie,” she reportedly said and ran up to hug the two surprised women. No one had called Minerva by the name “Nervie” since Mary’s death in 1865. I ‘t now seemed evident to everyone involved that Mary had taken control of Lurancy Vennum. Although she looked the same, she knew everything about the Roff family and treated them as her loved ones. The Vennum’s, on the other hand, although treated very courteously, were seen with a distant politeness. It was as if their own daughter only knew them as friendly strangers. ‘On February 11, Lurancy, or rather “Mary”, was allowed to go home with the Roff’s. Mr. and Mrs. Vennum agreed that it would be for the best, although they desperately hoped that Lurancy would regain her true identity. The Roff’s however, saw this as a miracle, as though Mary had returned from the grave. Lurancy was taken across town and as they traveled, they passed by the former Roff home, where they had been living when Mary died. She demanded to know why they were not returning there and they had to explain that they had moved a few years back. Further evidence that Lurancy was now Mary Roff? For the next several months, Lurancy lived as Mary and seemed to have completely forgotten her former life. She did however, tell her mother that she would only be with them until “some time in May”. As time passed, Lurancy continued to show that she knew more about the Roff family, their possessions and habits, than she could have possibly known if she had been faking the whole thing. Many of the incidents and remembrances that she referred to had taken place years before Lurancy had even been born. ‘Of course, not everyone in Watseka believed that Mary had taken possession of Lurancy’s body and ridiculed the very idea of it. Several of the doctors who had attempted to treat Lurancy started scathing rumors about Dr. Stevens and the Vennum’s pastor pleaded with them to have Lurancy committed. He predicted a time when they would wish that they had followed his advice. In early May, Lurancy told the Roff family that it was time for her to leave. She became very sad and despondent and would spend the day going from one family member to the next, hugging them and touching them at every opportunity. She wept often at the thought of leaving her “real family” and over the next couple of weeks, a battle raged for control of Lurancy’s physical body. At one moment, Lurancy would announce that she had to leave and at the next moment, Mary would cling to her father and cry over the idea of leaving him. Finally, on May 21, Lurancy returned home to the Vennum’s. She displayed none of the strange symptoms of her earlier illness and her parents were convinced that somehow she had been cured, thanks to intervention by the spirit of Mary Roff. She soon became a happy and healthy young woman, suffering no ill effects from her strange experience. ‘She also remained in touch with the Roff family for the rest of her life. Although she had no memories of her time as Mary, she still felt a curious closeness to them that she could never really explain. During occasional visits to their home, Lurancy would sometimes allow Mary to take control of her so that she could communicate with her family. ‘Eight years later, when Lurancy turned 18, she married a local farmer named George Binning and two years later, they moved to Rawlins County, Kansas. They bought a farm there and had 11 children. Lurancy died in the late 1940′s while she was in California visiting one of her daughters. ‘Asa Roff and his wife received hundreds of letters, from believers and skeptics alike, after the story of the possession was printed on the front page of the Watseka newspaper. After a year of constant hounding and scorn from neighbors, they left Watseka and moved to Emporia, Kansas. Seven years later, they returned to Watseka to live with Minerva and her husband. They died of old age and are buried in Watseka. ‘The Vennum’s stayed on in Watseka for many years but after the death of her husband, Lucinda Vennum moved to Kansas with Lurancy and her children. Dr. Stevens lectured on the “Watseka Wonder” for eight years before dying in Chicago in 1886. Mary Roff was never heard from again. http://www.prairieghosts.com/wonder.html

Will America Get Over its Nudity Hang-up?
Historian Says U.S. Laws, Attitudes Don’t Match Up

As recently as January, the U.S. Supreme Court was debating whether TV networks should be fined for showing a bare body part – in this case, a woman’s butt — on an episode of ABC’s “NYPD Blue.”

A lawyer arguing for the networks noted enforcement could lead to complaints about the Summer Olympics in Beijing: During the opening ceremonies a statute of a bare-breasted, bare-bottomed woman was plainly visible.

A decision isn’t expected until June, but no matter the result, the very fact this is a matter before the highest court in the land troubles historian Mike Foster.

America remains surprisingly prudish, or at least hypocritical, about nudity, says Foster, co-author with his wife, Barbara, of the biography, A Dangerous Woman: The Life, Loves, and Scandals of Adah Isaccs Menken (www.TheGreatBare.com).

“Officially, we’re uptight about nudity,” he says, “but happy to watch it in the media. Advertisers use nudity to make a buck, publishers to sell product, and protesters take it off to make a point.

“Lindsay Lohan’s nude spread for Playboy earned her a million dollars and was pirated on the Internet. Helen Mirren, at 64, posed topless for a puff promoting ‘Love Ranch.’ PETA women, who strip in public for attention to animal rights — ‘go naked instead of wearing fur’ — have been joined by their men.

The “ultimate fantasy commercial” for this year’s Super Bowl featured a beautiful Colombian model looking stark naked. It was done with paint and 100 million viewers feasted their eyes on a nude illusion.

Foster says our nude hypocrisy stems from the Victorian era, when actress Adah Menken was dubbed “The Great Bare” by writer/admirer Mark Twain. The Civil War-era bombshell singer and actress became famous as The Naked Lady for her starring role in “Mazeppa,” a drama in which she rode a stallion up a four-story stage mountain, apparently in the buff. She actually wore a flesh-colored body stocking, but the audience gasped — yet another nude illusion.

It’s mystifying that in Western Europe, the birthplace of many American traditions and values, billboards, TV shows and commercials featuring nudity are commonplace. Nude sunbathers enjoy their nations’ beaches — and don’t go home with awkward tan lines.

One hopeful sign that America’s easing up: At actress Betty White’s televised 90th birthday tribute, Tina Fey claimed the older actress told her: “Never let anyone tell you that you are not good enough to pose nude.”

Yes, our favorite “Golden Girl” did it, decades ago. Yet another “dangerous woman” ahead of her time?

Could a Mega-Tsunami
Wipe Out the Eastern Seaboard?
Fictional Account Based on Scientific Fact
Reveals Real Threat

As scientists have been baffled by earthquakes in the U.S. and a tsunami in Japan, there is one thing some of them seem to agree on – something really bad is about to happen and it’s going to happen soon.

That’s the news uncovered by New York Times best-selling novelist Steve Alten from the research he performed for his new book, Phobos: Mayan Fear (www.stevealten.com), a fictional tale of the Mayan 2012 doomsday prediction. His story incorporates the very real existence of a volatile volcano in the Canary Islands that some scientists believe could pose a catastrophic threat to the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. What’s worse is that many believe the volcano is close to erupting.

“Scientists have been tracking this since 2001,” said Alten. “Ten years ago, Dr. Simon Day, of the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at University College London, predicted that if the volcano, called Cumbre Vieja, was to erupt, it would cause a landslide, which in turn would create a massive mega-tsunami. Moving at roughly the speed of a commercial jet, these waves would be about 100 to 160 feet high by the time they crossed the Atlantic to strike U.S. shores.”

What’s worse is that El Hierro, another volcano only 80 miles from Cumbro Viejo, is set to erupt soon.

“At the end of September, the Canary Islands government raised the alert level for the El Hierro volcano in the Canary Islands (Spain) to ‘Yellow,’ the highest alert status since an unprecedented earthquake swarm commenced in mid-July,” Alten added. “Now, that volcano won’t cause a massive tsunami, but I can’t imagine that a volcano erupting 80 miles away from another more volatile volcano is something that will add to the geologic stability of the region.”

Alten’s research for his book also revealed that most scientists don’t consider a Cumbro Viejo eruption just a possibility. They believe it is a probability.

“Dr. Steven Ward from the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the University of California co-authored a paper with Dr. Day in which he stated that in the case of Cumbro Viejo, it is not a matter of if, but rather, a matter of when.”

According to the paper, entitled “Cumbre Vieja Volcano – Potential collapse and tsunami at La Palma, Canary Islands,” the volcano would cause a massive landslide on the island of La Palma, forcing a massive chunk of land into the ocean. Immediately thereafter, an unprecedented mountain of water about 3,000 feet high would form and crest only to collapse and rebound back into the ocean. The tsunami would cover about 155 miles in about 10 minutes, and rumble past 500 miles per hour as it spread through the Atlantic toward the U.S. coast. Waves as high as 164 feet would pound the lower part of the Eastern Seaboard.

“People were surprised by the earthquakes here in the states and shocked at the Japanese tsunami,” Alten said. “I may be a writer of fiction, but when it is based on facts this strong and this compelling, I can tell you I won’t be surprised when we get a tsunami warning to evacuate to East Coast. After all, the facts have been here the whole time.”

About Steve Alten

Steve Alten grew up in Philadelphia, earning his Bachelors degree in Physical Education at Penn State University, a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Delaware and a Doctorate of Education at Temple University. His first novel, Meg, would go on to become the book of the 1996 Frankfurt book fair, where it eventually was sold in more than twenty countries. Meg hit every major best-seller list, including #19 on the New York Times list (#7 audio). Phobos: Mayan Fear is his 11th novel, part of an international best-selling 2012 series that was #1 in Spain, Mexico and Argentina and was a bestseller in Italy, Germany and the U.K.

The questions becomes can you fend for yourself after a disaster?

No holds barred survival guide to global natural or man made catastrophes.

Some scoff at doomsday prophecies, but this year alone, millions of people have endured catastrophes of seeming apocalyptic proportions. Consider:

  • March 11 — A 9.0 magnitude earthquake violently shakes Japan, unleashing a tsunami that triggers a nuclear crisis. As of Aug. 15, Japan’s National Police Agency reported 20,364 people dead or still missing.
  • May 22 — A Category 5 tornado rips through Joplin, Mo., wreaking 14 miles of havoc, including 159 lives lost and 7,000 homes destroyed. By July 23, recovery was just beginning, according to a Huffington Post report.

Those spectacularly devastating events were just two of dozens this year that left stricken survivors without the essentials of modern life: water, shelter, electricity.

Could you manage for a few days? A few months?

Author Dan Martin is confident he could — and comfortably. He and his wife, Lucia, lived off the grid for 10 years on a self-sustaining Texas ranch they built themselves. They grew, raised or trapped their food; made their own ethanol fuel and solar panels; survived on rainwater they captured and purified. Martin’s newest book, Apocalypse: How to Survive a Global Crisis (www.ApocalypseTheBook.com), details lessons gleaned from the experience with illustrated instructions on everything from finding clean water sources to performing an emergency tracheotomy.

“We have a lot of backwards to go before we can even think about going forwards again,” Martin says. “We’ve become too comfortable; too secure; too complacent with our lifestyles. I’m not saying we should abandon everything, our air conditioning, our livelihoods, our technology, and go live in a cave. But when you’re 100 percent dependent on these systems and they fail for whatever reason, most people have no idea how to cope and continue.”

What is it all about?
The Nevada desert in the middle of nowhere is a dried up river bed that is where Burning Man begins…

Burning man is about freedom. Freedom of artistic expression that is radical in nature. Let me go back. It’s the middle of no where. About 2 hours off the grid. No, stores, no homes beyond Gerlack. There is nothing. For Burning Man to exist people start on August 1, to begin the building of the city and erecting the art projects. By the third day  of the event 50,000 people will have helped complete the city. You must bring in everything you will need, food, water, clothes, lights, and trash bags to take everything out. The experience is about Radical self-reliance, radical self-expression and radical participation, because it is a radical experience! A place where artist can express themselves without judgment. That means artistically, physically, sexually and emotionally. (Because kids are present sex is contained in private areas, not allowed out in the open.) My first year a woman told me she always hated her breast and after going to burning man and seeing so many different shapes and sizes (at the critical tits parade) that she for the first time enjoyed her own breast.

That is what we miss in society. Non-judgmental, unconditional love and acceptance for the human race let alone the human body. You didn’t come out of your womb with clothes on and you didn’t come out thinking gee my body is bad, I need to cover it. Some person taught you how to see yourself based only on their life’s experiences and what they were taught. Burning Man takes you beyond that limit.

My first year at Burning Man I didn’t know what it was, what it was about or where it was located. I left Santa Cruz, CA heading home to Sacramento at the time which is three hours away. I get a phone call when I was hitting Fairfield and my friend April, who I just left in Santa Cruz hours before says, “Do you want to go to Burning Man?” I asked what it was and her answer “a place where you can let your freak flag fly.” I said “OK.” Then I asked when is it and there was a long pause…”April, when is it?” “Um,” comes her reply, “now!” “OK, where is it?” trying to get any info I could. She said “Nevada” and explained I’d have to turn around go back to Santa Cruz, pick her up, drive to Nevada even though I didn’t know where we were going and do it all on faith, because we didn’t have tickets either. It was an adventure I didn’t question. I said let’s do it and it was done. I turned around picked up my friend 3 hours away from home and from Burning Man and then set course for Black Rock City, Nevada.

In Reno I bought one bottle of water, a banana and sushi. Then I asked for directions while the annoying birdie in my ear (my friend) kept saying “That isn’t enough water we are going into the desert.” I figured, we are going to be there a few hours and go home. What is she talking about?

We arrived. How we got the ticket will forever remain a secret. But it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life…

We pull in and I immediately get out to stretch. I’d been up for over 24+ hours and happy to have “landed.” In mid-stretch I freak out! I see two guys talking no one else around. I turn to my friend to ask “Is he naked!” She sarcastically told me to go look (she obviously knew more about this strange place than I did.) On my tiptoes I get closer trying not to be seen or heard. I took a closer to find when he turned around everything was hanging out! I mean everything. My mouth fell open. I have to be in the Twilight Zone! Is this legal? Is this an orgy? Where did my friend bring me? Where am I? Where is aunt Em, Toto? I had a feeling I wasn’t in Kansas anymore.

It was the end of the week early morning and we trekked along. Finding the street signs weren’t up. We were lost and didn’t have a clue as to what we were doing. We made our way to center camp. I painted on the canvas along with other people, we walked around. Nothing to spectacular was happening. I was a little bored and tired. Wondering around I had gotten lost twice. At one point during the night a guy was peeing in the pitch darkness and my friend pulled me just before I walked through his stream of pee! It wasn’t a good experience. That night I was getting ready to drive home with no sleep up for 36 hours. My friend says, “You just need sleep. Give it a chance.” I pulled off, tired, angry and then I just stopped the car, turned on the heat and slept.

The next morning I found myself at center camp again sitting next to a lesbian couple. She asked about how my experience was going and I told her the truth. “Burning Man is what you make it,” she says to me. “If you need something it will find you. Just be open. If you have relationship issues you’ll be confronted with it so it can heal, whatever you need it’s out here.” That was a profound moment for me.

I’m in control? I am in control of the experience? It is what I make it? For the first time I had permission. To do what, I didn’t know, but it change my perspective. Mentally I was free.

Not knowing we weren’t allowed to drive once in the gate and parked, we drove everywhere. At one point this guy was literally washing his rear end. In mid-shower we asked him for directions and he stopped to tell us he didn’t know, but good luck and we kept trekking as my friend is yelling at me for pulling up to him on her side! I laughed! People stoop the car to give us hugs through the window, people handed us water and told us to park the car and walk to the temple. We did and got lost and people handed us more water. Making it back to HeeBeeGeeBee Healers Camp, we asked how to get a massage. It was the end of the event so we could no longer schedule a massage, but why let that stop you? A woman at the camp yelled out to about 40 half naked people lying on the ground “Hey, can anyone massage my friend Belinda here?” Talk about embarrassing! Why was this happening to me? My friend looked at me and ran in the other direction off to do her own thing. This guy with big beautiful eyes waved me over and we talked about what I needed. He massaged my back and he said it would be much easier to massage my back if the shirt was off, but it was up to me if I wanted to take it off. I looked around, bravely started to unbutton my blouse and off it came. It was the first time in my life I remembered feeling physically free.

There was a woman about ten feet away, I am guesstimating she weighted in the ball park of 400 pounds or more was naked laying on the ground getting a massage and someone was playing the violin for her. It seemed to be a safe place and safe haven for all. It was a far distance from what the media portrays as real perfection and beauty. I was hooked on Burning Man from that point on. I loved the new reality. Every time I got lost I’d run into my friend. We’d share our experiences and then be off in different directions again. Her first story to me was – a woman found a phone booth in the middle of the Playa and when she pick up the phone God was on the other end. She asked God, “This is my first time here. What should I do?” God said “Follow your fears.” I have since talked to God myself at that same booth and I follow that advice every moment of my waking life. I saw men with blue bodies and orange penises, people on stilts, mega art pieces, people in love with life and open to strangers being in there space. It felt like home.

Over the course of two days we were gifted food and water without ever asking for it. I believe that was meant to be my experiences and why I didn’t being much more than the few things I did bring. We helped people we’d never met before tear down a huge dome, when it became night we used my car lights to see and kept at it. We then drove out to the temple burn and the police told us we had to park the car. I let my friend go alone in the pitch black and I sat waiting feeling like I shouldn’t go. I didn’t listen. With no shoes and no water I walked to the temple. The ashes landed in my hair. It burnt my scalp. I left wondering why I didn’t listen to myself. I stopped a kissing couple and asked if they’d seen my red car in the pitch black of the night and they asked why I didn’t have a flashlight, of course I didn’t know I’d need one when I arrived a day before. Lost I went back to the camp that we helped tear down and my friend was there looking for the car as well. Two bikers offer to go out there to find it. 30 minutes later they come back and take us to my car. I thought it was so kind and I was thankful, since we were sleeping in my car! He gifted me and I gifted him with a free psychic reading. It felt good to give. My heart was over whelmed with love.

What a huge difference a day out there made. It was life changing. Burning Man is a gifting economy. You give time, space, food, water, or gifts. No money is exchanged. It’s a beautiful way to live. I wish it could be that way on a daily bases. I was sad to leave that morning. My eyes weld up with tears at the thought of going back to the ordinary world where no one even looks at you when you walk down the street. I looked back as we drove away. My heart was still there. I was leaving a place where people really see you. Yes. Just like Avatar. “I see you.” That was in 2004. I’ve been burning ever since. This year I will make it to Burning Man’s Rites Of Passage 2011. I bought tickets early for the first time in 8 years and for the first time in 25 years BM sold out. Was this me being psychic or is it that I am meant to go?

Is burning man all about sex, drugs and raves? Well think about it. Burning man is a small city. You can find sex, drugs and rock and raves next door. At burning man it is no different. The fact is BM is about everything in life. It’s everything condensed in a small three mile radius and it’s free once in the gate. You can take yoga classes or take a night stroll in the astronomy class and then take an art class with your kids. There is a library where you can get books and read, then take them with you or give it back; a boutique of clothes and costumes. You go shopping, but you don’t pay for it – there is no price on it, like it is out here in the “default” world. Default world: the world you are living in right now reading this.

In the “default” world you avoid strangers, but at Burning Man, you have people hugging you when they cross your path. They say thank you for being here and they share with you without asking of something in return. Many of us only dream of a world like that and every year I get to live it!

The burn is many things to many people. It symbolizes a new year. You are burning the old and starting again with the new. The year after New Orleans was hit they built a temple in honor of the disaster. Some people had lost loved ones. They came back the next year to put pictures of the ones who crossed over on the temple walls. They cried shared stories and then in the end it was burned so that they could let the pain go. It was an emotional year and I couldn’t stay at the temple for very long. There was too much pain in one little place for me to handle, but for those who had lost someone it was a sanctuary.

Burning man is for those people who never want to get lost. It’s for those who want to know that every place they turn is home. That is Burning Man; it is home. Every year at the gate they welcome you home. You can sleep in someone else’s tent or camp and be welcomed with open arms. People hug you for being you, not because they know you. Yeah there is sex and what a great place to have it amongst joyous, sensual, adventurous people who are sending you love. Most of you don’t even get that at home or with your sexual partners. At burning man you don’t have to ask for that kind of respect and love it is given freely.

That is burning man to me. Ask another person, you might get another answer.

“Don’t knock masturbation – it’s sex with someone I love” – Woody Allen

What The Hell Is Burning Man Anyway?

BURNING MAN!

What’s It About?

In the desert in the middle of nowhere is a dried up river bed in Nevada that is where burning man begins…

Burning man is about freedom. A place for artist to go, a place were they can express themselves without judgment that means artistically, physically, sexually and emotionally. My first year a woman told me she always hated her breast and after going to burning man and seeing so many different shapes, sizes and differences that she for the first time enjoyed her own breast.

That is what we miss in society. Non judgmental, unconditional love and acceptance for the human race let alone the human body. You didn’t come out of your womb with clothes on and you didn’t come out thinking gee my body is bad, I need to cover it. Some imperfect, dysfunctional person taught you how to see your self based only on their life’s experiences and burning man takes you beyond that, beyond such a limiting behavior.

Is burning man all about sex, drugs and rock and roll? Well think about it. Burning man is a small city. You can find sex, drugs and rock and roll right next door.  At burning man it is no different. So what is the point of going to the “Man”if that is all it was about? The fact is BM is about everything in life. You can take yoga classes or take a night stroll in the astronomy class and take an art class with your kids. There is a library where you can get books and read, them take them with you or give it back; a boutique of clothes and costumes that you don’t pay for. You can just find a new way of expressing yourself and who you are. There is no price on it like it is out here in the “default” world. Default world: the world you are living in right now reading this blog.

In the “default” world you don’t even say “hi” to people who pass you on the street, but at burning man, you have people hugging you when they cross your path. They say thank you for being here and they share with you without asking of something in return. Many of us only dream of a world like that and every year I get to live it!

Burning man is for those people who never want to get lost and want to know that every place they turn is home. That is burning man; it is home. PREDICTIONS

Many psychics are coming to me with predictions for 2011. They seem a bit scary and doomsdayish. I wonder is something bad going to happen? People make predictions all the time. Some come true and others don’t. When is  it a proper time to share predictions? How  do you know  the predictions will come true? More importantly who do you warn, when do you warn people and what happens if they take your warning only to find out it wasn’t a true prediction. Like the end of the world thing that was supposed to happen May 21, today!  These are questions most psychics have.

I decided to write a blog on up coming predictions  to let people decide on their own. What would it hurt to take a vacation around the time a predicted disaster happen? I have friends that are stocking up on water and gas just as a precaution to a disaster. It’s  smart just as having a savings account…with money in it.

Today I am asking Shannon Leischner (Darkness Radio 100.8 FM, Let Us Connect) a psychic to give us some predictions  about 2011 – 2012. www.shannonleischner.com

Shannon what predictions have you made in the past that have come true?

Shannon:In January 2011, I predicted the death of a rapper from the 90s era. Then Nate Dogg died on March 16, 2011.

Belinda:I remember you actually telling me this when I was on vacation with you. You felt it very stronge and didn’t flinch when you said it. You know without a doubt!

Shannon: The day before Elizabeth Taylor died, I was talking to my partner saying that she was going to pass soon..and then she died the next day.
Then I predicted that a younger rapper will be killed, then a few days ago then Johnson M-Bone of Cali Swag District was killed.
My prediction that a big music star will die in a plane accident has yet to come.

Belinda: Wow you’re predicting a lot of death. I usually stay away from the subject myself, but it’s interesting you are seeing so much of it and willing to share it with us.

How do you come up with your predictions? Is it a vision, a feeling, a spirit giving you information?

Shannon: My predictions come from feelings and spiritual information that is fed to me.

What are your top 10 predictions for the next  year and a half?

1. Financial / Economic
A series of major catastrophic events in the US including flooding, tornadoes, cyclones, hurricanes, and earthquakes will topple the economy of the US. The economy will crash and it will be very difficult for the US to recover.

Belinda: Crazy…did you see the predictions on my last blog? Seems similar.

2. Disasters

There will be increased seismic activity not only in California, but in the midwest and the southern states.
There will also be more record breaking catastrophic events such as flooding, tornadoes, cyclones, and hurricanes. The Earth’s energy is completely out of alignment and this is the way for the Earth to realign itself.

3. Stock Market
The stock market will remain the same for about 6 months, but then there will be a continuous downward fall for the remainder of the year and into next year.

4.  Election – who will run who will win?
I believe will Obama will be re-elected.

Shannon thanks for being a part of  my Strange, Unusual, Psychic, Paranormal and the Unexplained Blog.

I’ve written this blog, because of how my facebook friends responded to this question: If someone predicts a disaster that could effect you, (They’ve been right before) do you listen or shrug it off…if it happens it happens sorta thing?  Everyone of them said they would listen!  They’d want to know so that they can have an opportunity to prepare.  A few predictions are below with back story below. I have not made any of these predictions myself. I don’t feel anything with LA psychically.  This is just an article to share predictions and information. Do with it what you will.

It’s on billboards, in the news and all over the Internet. Tomorrow the world ends at 6pm starting in New Zealand according to Harold Camping who has predicted the end before and of course was wrong. Tonight people are awaiting a fate that will end the world. If the world doesn’t end today in New Zealand and tomorrow at 6pm for the USA – could it still be the end for Los Angeles?

A few months ago I was doing a reading for a client. She was telling me her daughter had a visitation in a dream and warned of an earthquake in LA. It was so strong this child had her mother call all of her friends and warn them. The next day an earthquake hit. The girl then predicted another earthquake because the visitor came back and said the last time was a warning - he wanted people to listen when it came time for the big one  which will hit on June 6, 2011 in Los Angeles. Children tend to be highly accurate, because they have nothing to prove and nothing to believe or disbelieve. I am paying attention. Enough not to be in LA on the 6th. I am on a mini Vacation. Palm Springs could be a nice spot to chill out for a day or two.

Last week I get a call from Hale Mednik Author of  “The Twelve Tribes” www.12-tribes.com and Astrologer. He said he has something to tell me concerning him and I both. I talked with him immediately, “what is it?” I ask.  It’s a prediction, he received out of the blue.

In Hale’s words: Many years ago, I had a plan to go Thailand and Indonesia on vacation.  A friend who happens to be a psychic told me she saw me dying there and that I shouldn’t go.  I was very skeptical, but then I ended up postponing my trip three weeks on account of a job, and she suddenly said it was OK to go.  And on the day I had originally planned to be scuba diving in Phuket, the huge tsunami of 2004 hit and Phuket was one of the major spots that got hit hard.  (Note: This psychic did save his life. I knew Hale at the time and can vouch for this story, the psychic was my best friend. So this next prediction I took seriously. – Belinda Bentley)
This same psychic called me up the other day and told me to stay away from Los Angeles in June 2011.  That a major earthquake is going to hit there.  She said she heard the same thing from a couple of other psychics too, and I have heard it confirmed also by another psychic friend.  I don’t want to start up a panic, but I’ve been urged to share this information.

I wouldn’t panic, that’s not the point of this blog.  I write this for many reasons:

  • If it happens and the same psychics predict another disaster it could save lives.
  • Scientific proof psychics see the future if it happens.
  • Warning to help people get earthquake prepared whether it happens in June or not, LA will have another earthquake at some point. It pays to be prepared.
  • To build awareness on earthquake preparedness. There are websites dedicated to earthquake preparedness tips, checklist and advice.
  • If you do listen it could be a great reason to take a mini vacation!

My facebook friends at www.facebook.com/tvpsychicbelindabentley have explained on my public page how to prepare for hurricanes and earthquakes. Keep copies of important papers in two different locations is a good one I’ve not heard of before.

Here are other sites to help you get prepared: http://www.oes.ca.gov/Operational/OESHome.nsf/0/A6BE1FB7591A508D88256CD70058FBAB?OpenDocument

PG&E Also offer online earthquake preparedness.

In addition to these predictions I will have Shannon Leischner’s predictions posted as well tonight. Stay tuned and check back!
